This year, Eminence Organic Skin Care celebrates 10 years as a Certified B Corporation™. When we became certified in 2016, we were the first professional skin care company in Canada to achieve this. While the certification was an important milestone, it also affirmed something that had long been part of our approach to business: a commitment to creating positive impact for people and the planet.
Over the past decade, this approach has shaped the way we do business, from supporting communities and helping restore natural environments to investing in Team Members and advancing our mission of enhancing wellness through nature-first skin care.
As we mark this anniversary, we're proud to stand alongside more than 10,000 businesses worldwide that share a belief in using business as a force for good. Looking back on 10 years as a Certified B Corporation™, we can see those values reflected across many areas of our business, from our organic roots and community partnerships to the ways we support our Team Members, Customers and the environment.
Caring for people and the planet has always gone hand in hand at Eminence Organic Skin Care. Through our Forests for the Future™ initiative, what began as tree planting has expanded into projects that support biodiversity, restore habitats and benefit local communities.
Together, these efforts have contributed to planting more than 33 million trees. Today, the work extends beyond forests to include kelp seaforestation along the coast of British Columbia, mangrove restoration in Africa and Brazil, agroforestry initiatives in Haiti and Senegal and post-wildfire recovery efforts across North America.
These projects also support local livelihoods, create economic opportunities and engage local and Indigenous communities in caring for the environments we all depend on.
Creating positive impact starts with people. Through the Eminence Kids Foundation, charitable partnerships and community initiatives, we work to support the well-being of children, families and communities.
Access to nutritious food is one of the ways we put our values into action. Since 2013, the Eminence Kids Foundation has partnered with organizations that help provide fresh organic fruits and vegetables to children and their families, supporting healthier communities while improving access to healthy food.
Working with nonprofit partners across North America and Hungary, we've helped provide more than 207,000 meals and expand access to nutritious food for families who need it most.
Behind every initiative, partnership and product are the Team Members who help bring our mission to life. Supporting their well-being, growth and engagement has long been an important part of how we do business because positive change starts from within.
We bring this commitment to life through eco-friendly transit benefits, wellness initiatives and opportunities for Team Members to participate in our community-focused programs.
As a Certified B Corporation™, we recognize that our responsibility extends beyond what we do externally. It's also about investing in the people whose passion, expertise and dedication help make this possible every day.
Respect for nature has been woven into the Eminence Organics story from the beginning. Grounded in Hungarian heritage, we have long believed that healthy skin starts with ingredients thoughtfully grown and harvested from the earth.
That belief continues to guide our approach. From incorporating Biodynamic® ingredients to supporting farming practices that prioritize soil health, these traditions continue to shape how we source ingredients and craft our skin care products today.
At Eminence Organics, we believe business has the potential to create positive change. Becoming a Certified B Corporation™ reinforced our belief that business decisions should consider their impact on Team Members, Customers, Communities, business partners and the planet.
Over the past 10 years, that belief has influenced how we approach growth, partnerships and long-term success. Rather than viewing certification as a destination, we see it as an ongoing opportunity to strengthen our practices, increase accountability and continually look for ways to make a meaningful difference through our business.
Over the past decade, we’ve come to see how we make a difference in new ways. What began with a commitment to responsible business practices now includes restoring forests, supporting biodiversity, strengthening communities and investing in the people who make this work possible. While we're proud of how far we've come, we know the work is ongoing. As we look ahead, we'll continue building on the work we've started, supporting communities, caring for the environment and investing in the people who help make it all possible.
