| | | Eminence Endorsement : FashionTribes.com - Beauty News | | | The amber hue of beauty Spice up Your Visage with Pumpkin & Yam Purees The holidays are sneaking up which means looking good for all those photo ops. Stage a speedy intervention and banish any lingering summer skin damage with Eminence's Yam & Pumpkin Enzyme Peel. It smells as delish as pumpkin pie, but this gentle - yet powerfully effective - exfoliating peel contains pumpkin and yam extracts, loaded with antioxidants, enzymes and minerals to make some skin magic. It also has over 20 other active organic compounds such as glycolic acid, willow bark, and asafetida to help even out skin tone and reduce any yucky blotching. Perfect for all skin types, it's particularly suitable for sensitive and sun damaged types. Upon application, it will create a slight tingly sensation, which means your dead cells are being sloughed off. Don't be alarmed if your skin feels a bit warm afterwards, it's just your lovely fresh skin glowing from within. I noticed a healthy and vibrant glow the minute I washed the peel off. My complexion was also a lot smoother and much softer than before. The last but most important step is to neutralize the peel with the Soothing Chamomile Tonique. Used often, pigmentation will be reduced, fine lines whittled away, and collagen production levels are elevated. Perhaps not the fountain of youth, but the next closest thing. | | | Hello Magazine (Canada) : October 2006 | | | | | | Au naturel : Going ‘green’ is the hottest trend to hit Hollywood – and beauty counters across Canada “There’s a really interesting dichotomy in beauty right now,” says Attila Koronczay, operations manager for Eminence Organic Skin Care in Canada, of which Goldie Hawn and Alicia Silverstone are fans. “On one hand, there are more and more people opting for both invasive and non-invasive cosmetic procedures, but there’s also a huge consumer interest in organic products from both celebrities and beauty mavens.” Organic products are those that have grown without the aid of pesticides or chemical fertilizers. “Don’t confuse the word ‘natural’ with ‘organic’”, Koronczay advises. “’Natural’ simply means that the ingredient hasn’t been altered drastically from its original state.” Generally speaking, you can trust labels that read “Contains certified organic ingredients”, but there is really no way of knowing what percentage of organic ingredients make up the product. Organics can improve the health of your skin and hair, not to mention cause less harm to the environment in the way they’re harvested, produced and manufactured. When products contain chemicals the trace elements can be absorbed into the skin and blood. Organic products allow the benefits of the products to treat the skin and hair more effectively. Because these products do not use preservatives any products that are older than one year should be tossed out. Products featuures; Stone Crop Hydrating Gel and Yam and Pumpkin Enzyme Peel Hello! | | | Eminence Endorsement : FashionTribes.com - Sweet Life Blog | | Get Pearfect Skin with Eminence! If you haven't heard of Eminence Organic Skin Care, now's the time to check it out. A venerable skin care line from Hungary, they only make each product in small batches, without any preservatives. This is the real deal, as the shelf life is only one year or less. Plus, each organic ingredient is derived from the best sources, making it super potent and very effective. How many other skin care lines can boast that awesome quality? I took the liberty to test out their latest offerings and the new Pear & Apple collection doesn't disappoint. The Pear & Poppy Seed Microderm Polisher totally rocks, with fine walnut and poppy seeds gently buffing your dull complexion to a positively glowing visage. The yummy pear and green apple pulp will boost your skin with antioxidants and bioflavonoids, meaning more fruity goodness for your lovely face. A small amount is enough, so don't go overboard with the product. For the sensitive types, try using less product and massage very gently. The Pear & Green Apple Masque is very lovely, replenishing the moisture back to your dry skin (great for over-exposed summer skin). The pear and green apple purees infuse the skin layers with nourishing vitamins while active powerhouses such as Ginseng and Burdock Root act as healing agents, toning and purifying your skin. One of my new favorites from their body care line is the Pear & Green Apple Yogurt Body Wash. Very gentle for everyday use, it doesn't contain any Sodium Lauryl Sulfates, which can really dry out and irritate the skin. Like all their products, it smells like the actual fruit is being blended into the wash. I felt like I was literally washing myself with fruit juices. Last but not least - the Pear & Green Apple Sugar Scrub is a luxurious skin polishing treatment. The natural AHA in sugar cane gently exfoliates the entire body to perfection while pear and apple extracts drench your skin with much needed vitamins and bioflavonoids. Comfrey provides calming and antiseptic properties while Butcher's Broom firms the skin. I use this sparingly, since you don't want to waste the product. It's so moisturizing I don't even bother with a moisturizer afterwards. | | | Hamilton Magazine : Spring 2006 | | | | Rosewater Spa of Oakville, Ontario features the Eminence product line. Shown above is the Spa’s Vip Level with fireside lounge and private pedicure stations. Once merely a sensuous segue from winter into spring, the spa ritual is increasingly seen as a core element of the modern lifestyle, a healthy part of our regular self-maintenance regime. And why not? Ever more stressed, made to work longer hours, encouraged to retire later and forever having the health hazards of stress drilled into our stressed little heads, it’s no wonder that retreats once deemed hedonistic indulgences are now seen as humane investments in well-being. According to Jack Morrison, president of Leading Spas of Canada and one of the founding directors of Premier Spas of Ontario, there has been a 152 percent increase in the number of visits to spas and a 62 percent increase in the number of spas in the country in recent years, almost half that growth in Ontario alone. “People are more in tune with the need to remain healthy and as stress-free as possible,” he says. “More than ever, there’s an impetus to escape the urban jungle within the urban jungle itself. It’s a consumer-driven growth industry.” Area spas are doing all they can to keep pace. From the need for more potent instant result skincare lines to the convenience of three-in-one treatments, from the ever increasing demand for couples’ services to an even greater demand for anti-aging treatments, current trends are leading many traditional spas to look into ever more intense face-lifting technologies. On the other side of the spectrum, consumers are eager to embrace natural and holistic treatments that combine therapeutic alternatives — the wellness component — with the luxurious escapism of spa services. Others are enhancing the one-stop-shop dimension of their business, not only incorporating elements of both spiritual and esthetic services and treatments, but also introducing “makeup bars” and boutique-style jewellery areas to lure a clientele that wants it all: mind, body and soul. Rosewater Spa of Oakville 156 Church Street, Oakville, Ontario (905) 338-7724 http://www.rosewaterspa.com/ A board member of Premier Spas of Ontario, Liz Belford is as attentive a spa owner as any you’ll see in the industry. Aside from the usual Premier Spa insignia — an unwritten but common protocol of individually themed treatment rooms (named, at The Rosewater, after essential oils), a Jane Iredale mineral based makeup line, a juice bar and boutique displays — the Spa’s carefully tailored treatments are closely attuned to client requests and general market trends. Its signature treatment, the Rosewater Rap and Nap, is still a popular favorite with clients for its three-in-one treatment in one-third the time. Designed to suit an increasingly time strapped clientele looking to maintain body care and release stress, a unique while-you-wait sequential treatment almost seems to stop the clock. Synergistically combining a detoxifying rosemud body wrap, a personalized facial and a soothing seaweed scalp massage culminating in a six jet-head Vichy shower, it imparts that oh-so-wonderful rainforest feeling from head to toe. The recently introduced VIP level has also been designed to meet increasing requests for couples’ services. Belford has converted the entire lower level of the spa to be used exclusively by couples or special groups, an area she describes as “your own private spa within a spa.” The luxurious cream-toned retreat is equipped with its own juice bar, heated floors, a plasma-screen TV and DVD player, a fireplace, a private Aroma Grotto for eucalyptus steam baths and waterfall showers, a private massage room with its own sound system and side-by-side ultra-comfort pedicure stations for rose petal pedicures and hydrating paraffin hand treatments. The area also comes with its own dining lounge nestled in the alcove of the suite. “It gives couples an alternative to going to dinner and a movie for example,” says Belford. “Instead you can come here and hang out at the spa, have lunch with champagne and chocolate and be pampered while relaxing and spending quality time together.” Hamilton Magazine, Spring 2006, Page 36 | | | | | | |
| | | Spa Finder Magazine : May/June 2006 | | | The fastest route to more radiant skin is exfoliation, but because dullness often goes with dryness, you don't wan to overdo it. The fruit enzymes in pumpkin are gentle, making it a good alternative to glycolic acid. (It can still feel a bit tingly.) | | | Professional Beauty Magazine : April 2006 | | | | Eminence Organic Skin Care Rejuvenating AHA Facial : HOW TO GUIDE The Eminence AHA Fruit Pulp Treatment is made form a unique combination of organic apples, grapes and naseberry. These fruits are selected to contain the highest possible natural fruit acids resulting in an all-organic fruit glycolic peel. The Eminence Paprika Herbal Treatment is a highly active detoxifier and oxygen booster, which regenerates and rejuvenates the epidermis. This treatment is made from a unique blend of stimulating spices and herbs including Hungarian paprika, rosemary, lavender, sage, St John's wort and thyme. These products are used together in a layering process. By applying the Paprika Herbal Treatment on top of the AHA Fruit Pulp Treatment, the skin will immediately respond and the active beautifying process begin. The effect of this layering process is highly stimulating and the active process is visible. Once the treatments are applied, the blood circulation increases, raising the cellular metabolism to provide a new level of oxygenating absorption. Strong detoxification occurs during this time due to increased blood circulation and elevated body heat. The heating process assists the Fruit Pulp Treatment to activate and results in an even and perfect peeling effect. The skin is left velvety, smooth and refreshed. Following this treatment the perfectly exfoliated epidermis will be prepared for additional treatments as the detoxified skin tissue and pores are highly receptive. This treatment combination will leave your client with a glowing complexion and revitalized and more youthful appearance. Step 1: Complete a consultation with the client to examine skin type and client skin care expectations. Step 2: Cleansing Cleanse face with Eminence Lemon Cleanser to remove all make-up and impurities using light, stroking movements alternated with medium pressure. Remove the product with a damp soft cloth or cotton pads. Repeat if client is wearing heavy make-up. Step 3: Toning Wipe over the skin using a cotton pad saturated in the toner appropriate to skin type; Rosehip Toner (Normal, oily or rosacea), Wild Plum Toner (fatigued or dry skin), Sweet Red Rose Toner (Normal, dry or dehydrated skin) Step 4: Exfoliate / Stimulate /Oxygenate Apply a thin layer of the Eminence AHA fruit Pulp Treatment and immediately over the top an equal amount of Eminence Paprika Herbal Treatment. Both products are in concentrated form and should be diluted with a small amount of organic herbal tea in your hands before application to the skin. Leave on for 10 minutes. Remove the exfoliant by massaging with a cool hand dipped into tea or water. Massage over the exfoliant for two-three minutes (this will facilitate an easier removal of the exfoliant and impart a wonderful cooling effect). Finally, use a wet cloth to remove the products. Extractions can be done at this point if required. Step 5: Masque and Massage For best results, dilute masque with a small amount of organic herbal tea in your hands and perform a five minute massage of the face, neck and shoulders. Have a bowl of organic herbal tea at your side to dip hands in and provide extra slip if needed during the massage. Use the appropriate calming and soothing masque; Stone Crop Masque, Seven Herb Treatment, Menthol & Rosehip Treatment. Step 6: Masque to Leave On Apply a thin layer of the masque most appropriate for treating the client’s skin concerns. There are over 13 to choose from to customize the facial for all skin types. Cover with gauze moistened in organic herbal tea. Leave on for 10 minutes and remove with a warm damp cloth. Step 7: Moisturiser and Massage Apply a small amount of the moisturiser chosen according to skin type. There are over 14 to choose from to effectively customize the massage to benefit the client’s skin concerns. Use organic herbal tea to emulsify the product before application. Massage for 10–15 minutes using medium pressure to exercise and stimulate facial muscles. Periodically dip hands into the bowl or tea to give the moisturizer slip and to enhance the massage experience. When the massage is complete, remove excess moisturizer with a warm, damp cloth. Step 8: Toning Wipe over the skin using a cotton pad saturated in the toner appropriate to skin type; Rosehip Toner (Normal, oily or rosacea), Wild Plum Toner (fatigued or dry skin), Sweet Red Rose Toner (Normal, dry or dehydrated skin) Step 9: Serum Choose the appropriate serum to address skin concerns; Herbal Spot Serum (acne or oily skin), Couperose-C Serum (rosacea or sensitive skin), Eight Greens Youth Serum (hormonal or break-out prone skin), Gooseberry Black Currant Serum (mature or dry skin), Grape Antioxidant Serum (high potency antioxidant) Step 10: Apply Herbal Eye Contour Cream to the orbital area with medium pressure. Step 11: To finish apply a small amount of moisturizer to the face, neck and shoulder, chosen according to skin type. | | | BeautyNewsLA.com : April 2006 | | | Eminence Gets Rave Reviews! Independently tested and reviewed by BeautyNewsLA.com Eminence Organic Skin Care – Nature’s Bounty in a Jar By Tami Yu The skin care world is forever inundated with ‘natural’ lines promising the latest fountain of youth. For us busy gals, we usually don’t take the time to find out what this really means. While many brands contain ingredients that are labeled organic, you might sometimes wonder what else is lurking underneath that long list of chemical names. For those who are worried about the harmful long-term effects of chemical absorption, Eminence Organic Skin Care of Hungary is a comprehensive line that I highly recommend. With 48+ years of research, this is one of the few lines that’s totally organic and completely natural. Handmade weekly in small batches, it’s the closest thing to slathering a fresh fruit smoothie (or a nutritious salad) on your face. With a shelf life of only one year, this brand doesn’t contain any chemical preservatives or animal by-products (Attention vegans – they do use honey). Many products are infused with their trademark Biocomplex, a highly concentrated anti-aging serum with Vitamins A, C, and E. In conjunction with Co-enzyme Q10 and Alpha Lipoic Acid, it’s a super antioxidant boost to enhance the efficacy of the already-potent formulations. Here’s a roundup of my favorite items – most of these are suitable for many skin types, so feel free to experiment away: The Sweet Red Rose Cleanser is a fragrant, mild cleansing milk that isn’t too creamy. Hydrating your skin, you’ll feel like you’ve been showered with a fresh bouquet of roses. Follow this with the Wild Plum Tonique, which will oxygenize your skin with iron and vitamins. It can also double as a fruity hydrosol to melt away your stress. BeautyNewsLA.com, April 2006 | | | | | | |
